This preset includes canonical Pokémon species first introduced in Generation 2. It does not use game availability as the generation rule.

Are later evolutions of earlier-generation Pokémon included?

No. A later evolution belongs to the generation in which that species was first introduced.

Are Mega Evolutions or regional forms included?

No. The default generation preset uses canonical species only.

Is this the same as Favorite Pokémon by Generation?

No. This page ranks multiple Pokémon from one generation. Favorite Pokémon by Generation selects one favorite from each of Gen 1–9.
