- What is a Pokémon weakness chart?
- A Pokémon weakness chart shows how each attacking type performs against each defending type, including super-effective, resisted and immune matchups.
- How do I read the type chart?
- Find the attacking type row and the defending type column. The value where they meet is the damage multiplier for that matchup.
- What do 4×, 2×, ½× and ¼× mean?
- A 4× or 2× result is a weakness, 1× is neutral, ½× and ¼× are resistances, and 0× means the attack has no effect based on typing.
- How do dual-type weaknesses work?
- The defensive multiplier from each type is multiplied together. Two 2× weaknesses become 4×, while a 2× weakness and a ½× resistance become neutral.
- Why does a Pokémon have a 4× weakness?
- A 4× weakness occurs when both of the Pokémon’s defensive types are weak to the same attacking type.
- Can I search a Pokémon’s weaknesses?
- Yes. Search by Pokémon name or Pokédex number to see its base defensive weaknesses, resistances and immunities.
- Does the lookup include abilities?
- No. Results use base typing only. Abilities such as Levitate or Thick Fat are not applied on this page.
- Does the chart include held items or Tera Types?
- No. Held items, Tera Types, moves and other battle effects are not included in the base matchup results.
- Are Pokémon forms calculated separately?
- Forms with different typings are listed separately and use the typing of the selected form.
- Does this use the modern type chart?
- Yes. The main chart uses the modern 18-type rules. Some older Pokémon games use different type relationships.
- Is this a damage calculator?
- No. The chart shows type-effectiveness multipliers only. It does not calculate move power, stats, weather, abilities or final battle damage.
- Can I check an entire team?
- Use Pokémon Team Builder for basic shared team weaknesses, or Pokémon Team Planner for moves, abilities, game rules and deeper coverage analysis.
